Missing your annual ROC (Registrar of Companies) filings for three consecutive financial years is the critical mistake that results in a 5-year ban for your company's directors. To check your status or file pending returns.

This 5-year ban triggers severe and immediate consequences for you and your business:

1. Director Disqualification
Under Section 164(2) of the Companies Act, if a company fails to file its financial statements or annual returns for three continuous financial years, every person who is a director of that company is disqualified.

2. The 5-Year Ban Restrictions
Once disqualified, you face a strict 5-year restriction:

You cannot be appointed as a director in any other existing company.

You are legally barred from incorporating or starting a new company.

Your Director Identification Number (DIN) is marked as inactive or blocked in the system.

3. Company Strike-Off
Apart from disqualifying the directors, the ROC has the legal authority to initiate proceedings under Section 248 to strike off the company's name from the official register. This essentially means your business ceases to exist legally, and any associated bank accounts are typically frozen.
