Iโm honoured to be speaking at this Network Ireland Dublin event in partnership with AIB, where weโll be diving into one of the most important topics for women in business: pensions.

That gap means many women would need to work ๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐น๐ผ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ๐ฟ to retire with the same financial security as their male counterparts.

If you're self-employed in Ireland, hereโs a friendly reminder:
๐
Local Property Tax (LPT) valuations are due this November โ and staying compliant is more important than ever.
Why? Because if your LPT isnโt up to date, Revenue can apply a 10% surcharge on your income tax return. Or cancel your tax clearance certificate, which could delay payments to you. ๐ฌ Thatโs a costly mistake thatโs easily avoided!
โ
Make sure your property is correctly valued
โ
File your LPT return on time
โ
Keep your payments up to date
Even if youโre not due to pay right now, you still need to confirm your valuation and ensure your records are in order.
This valuation will determine your LPT charge for years 2026 to 2030, so it's important to get it right!
Letโs keep your finances stress-free and compliant. ๐ผโจ

From 1st January 2026, Irish businesses will be required to facilitate the automatic pension deductions for eligible employees, & transfer these deductions, along with an employer contribution, into a workplace pension scheme.
This is an important change that business owners should start preparing for now

Fantastic event held by South Dublin LEO at The Address Citywest on Wednesday night.
The speakers of the event, (entitled โBrand Youโ), Carol OโKelly of Redstorm Communications Ltd and Sarah Lyons, (wellstyled.ie) both gave individual and powerful presentations which dovetailed perfectly.
Carol got us to dig deep, and really think about our personal brand, what makes each of us remarkable and what we want people to remember about us, after we leave the room! In other words, our purpose, values and identity! Then how are we going to tell/show the world how brilliant we are, so that the right people can find us.
Sarah explained that when we meet someone, first impressions based on appearance are inevitable. Dressing in clothes and colours which make us feel confident and empowered can make such a difference in how we carry ourselves and how we are perceived by others.
Being an accountant, I particularly loved her mention of calculating the cost per wear of an item!! Sometimes investing in a more expensive item which will last longer can be the more financial savvy solution in the long term (& better for the environment!). Great advice!
Thank you to Sarah Naylor McNamee for hosting on the night and Sandra Hickey of South Dublin LEO who organises the โWomen on Wednesdayโ or WOW networking sessions.
