Currently, there is a grant available from the Energy Authority in the sum of €5,000, however, this will reduce to €2,500 from 1 July.

In addition, people can claim capital allowance of €24,000 and the allowance can be claimed in whole in accounting period in which the vehicle was purchased. If the vehicle is commercial the VAT can be reclaimed in full.
