The event provided a valuable platform for meaningful dialogue on fraud prevention, integrity and transparency, encouraging the exchange of insights and best practices across the region.

On 17 September, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of talented young professionals to our offices for the 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐲, an initiative created as a follow-up experience for participants of the ICAEW Business Challenge.

The day was all about bringing careers to life, beyond job descriptions and theory.

Participants had the opportunity to discover more about Forvis Mazars, our culture and the way our teams work, while gaining practical advice on CV preparation, LinkedIn profiles and interview best practices.

We were also delighted to have Konstantinos Chrysafogeorgos share insights into the world of Audit, as well as his own professional journey and experiences.

And because career development is also about making choices, navigating challenges and thinking on your feet, we wrapped up the experience with our Career Escape Room — an interactive challenge inspired by real-life workplace situations and career dilemmas.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀: 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁?

At the “Digital with Purpose” panel discussion, held as part of the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair, Tina Tsomokou, Head of Sustainability Services at Forvis Mazars in Greece, joined the conversation on how technology, data and innovation can contribute to sustainable development and create meaningful value for society.

A key message from the discussion was the need to shift the ESG conversation from “𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼?” 𝘁𝗼 “𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱?” — moving beyond compliance and activity metrics towards understanding the real outcomes created for citizens, businesses and communities.

Tina also highlighted that 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱. Approaches such as Social Return on Investment (SROI) can help organisations not only assess the social value generated by an initiative, but also make better-informed decisions from the very beginning.

And ultimately, technology should remain the means — not the purpose:
