🌍♻️ Social Enterprise Ghana at the Ghana–Italy Circular Economy Dialogue!
We were delighted to participate in the Ghana–Italy Circular Economy Dialogue, a two-day event that brought together entrepreneurs, development partners, policymakers, and ecosystem actors to explore innovative solutions for advancing Ghana’s circular economy and green growth agenda.
Our Private Sector Engagement Manager, Isaac Quansah, represented Social Enterprise Ghana on Panel Discussion 4: “Circular Agribusiness & Green Entrepreneurship – Unlocking Opportunities in Ghana’s Agro-Industrial Sector.” He shared insights on how social enterprises are driving sustainable agricultural practices, creating green jobs, and fostering innovation across local communities.
Beyond the panel discussion, we engaged in productive Business-to-Business (B2B) matchmaking sessions, connecting with CIDCI, an Italian organization dedicated to promoting international cooperation, diaspora entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic development. These engagements create opportunities for stronger partnerships, increased market access, and greater support for Ghana’s growing network of green entrepreneurs.
At Social Enterprise Ghana, we remain committed to building partnerships that accelerate sustainable development and strengthen the social enterprise ecosystem.
A big thank you to the organizers, partners, and fellow participants for an inspiring and impactful event. Together, we are creating pathways for a greener and more inclusive future! 🌱🤝🇬🇭🇮🇹

🤝 Stronger together!

Great things happen when visionaries gather in one room. This week, we hosted our partners from the Social Innovation Africa (SIA) and SOS Children’s Villages Ghana (SOS) right here at the Social Enterprise Ghana office! 🏢✨

This stakeholder engagement was all about setting the ground rules for the SPARK project. We spent the day:
1️⃣ Aligning our project goals and understanding the deep-rooted impact SPARK aims to achieve.
2️⃣ Defining clear, actionable roles for each stakeholder.
3️⃣ Brainstorming how Social Enterprise Ghana will leverage its ecosystem network to anchor our specific parts of the project.

Every great journey begins with a single step, and ensuring that all partners are moving in the same direction is how we guarantee success for the communities we serve.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the European Union and the European Union in Ghana for their generous funding support through the EU-Ghana Youth Empowerment Programme.

We are incredibly excited about what’s ahead. Drop a ⚡ in the comments if you’re ready to see the SPARK spread!

ACTIVATE PROJECT SUCCESS STORY 08/06/2026

From unemployment to entrepreneurship

Josephine Fofie’s story is a powerful example of how skills development can transform lives.

Josephine participated in the poultry value chain training at under the ACTIVATE Project, where she gained practical knowledge in brooding chickens, egg collection, feed preparation, and administering medication to birds. Although she already had some background in poultry farming, the training deepened her expertise and boosted her confidence to take the next step.

Immediately after the training, Josephine put her skills into action by starting her own poultry business with 500 birds. Due to growing demand, she has already expanded to 700 birds and continues to look forward to growing even further.

After completing her national service in 2022 and facing unemployment, the ACTIVATE Project has become a turning point in her life by providing her with a sustainable source of income and a pathway to independence.

Josephine extends her heartfelt appreciation to Social Enterprise Ghana, World University Service of Canada (WUSC-EUMC), and AgriCo Hub for the opportunity, support, and life-changing skills training.

Her journey is a testament to the impact of empowering young people with practical skills and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
