Ghana’s yield curve is kind of like “zigzag” line. You have to be interpolating very distant bond maturities whenever you need a treasury bond yield that approximately matches your investment horizon. In fact, how do you construct a “nice” spot curve using the available treasury securities in Ghana? It’s almost a guess work; the least to say. This is the reality that we Analysts in the industry face on daily basis. We need a better methodology to constructing the discount factor curve for security pricing.

Are we heading towards devastating economic crises?

My major challange is that, we don't seem to see what the GHS2.7 billion debt was used for. Of course, we expect this to be used for some capital projects that have the effect of contributing towards economic growth but can we see them? Even if they have been created, are they worth the amount?

We need more brains in finance and investment than ever. We need a lot of the professionals in the asset management industry and the financial advisory space in Ghana to develop the boldness to pursue the CFA program. Ghana has a lot of potentials to offer in the sub-region and therefore we need to get our human resource quality right.

I was highly honoured to be recognised among the 2021 CFA Charterholders at the Maiden Forecast Dinner organised by the CFA society Ghana at Accra City Hotel.

The CFA exams is globally considered as one of the most difficult finance exams and so passing it and obtaining the right to use the CFA designation is a prestige.

Congratulations to all the 2021 CFA charterholders recognized last night at our Maiden Forecast Dinner.

I have always nursed the desire to educate and inform the public on key economic developments in the country that notably affect investor confidence, business growth and the economic wellbeing of the ordinary Ghanaian.

I will use this platform to achieve these objectives and also, from time to time, provide professional insights (not to be taken as investment advice) into the local and international financial markets and the implications for our economy.
