MTD: The First Deadline Has Passed

Making Tax Digital has officially moved from “something coming” to “something businesses are actually having to do.”

The first quarterly update deadline for eligible Income Tax customers was 7 August.

And the numbers suggest a lot of people weren't ready.

So what can we learn from that?

MTD isn't really just about submitting another tax return.

And perhaps the biggest change for some sole traders and landlords is getting used to looking at their numbers throughout the year, rather than scrambling at the end.
