What a Budget!!
Think the biggest worry for most of our clients will be the increases in Capital Gains Tax rates to 14% for business assets (up to £1m) rising to 18%/24% for non business assets, and for Inheritance Tax, the limiting of Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief to £1m, with anything above this suffering IHT at 20%!

An apprenticeship opportunity has arisen in our small friendly accountancy practise based in Usk.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our office. No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided and you will be enrolled on a funded training programme (AAT) where you will be given all the support that you will need.
You will be working as part of a team assisting with client’s accounting needs such as :
* Preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
* Preparing tax computations
* Providing book-keeping services
* Preparation of VAT returns
We will require that you have a good attention to detail and that you are willing to learn. Salary will be in line with the national minimum wage to start with, increasing with experience. This is a permanent position, full time or part time applicants will both be considered.

Calls to HMRC are currently taking at least 40 minutes to be answered, so we've had to install another phone line just for calling HMRC!!! The alternative is writing to them, but they have taken up to a year to reply 😟😳
