Employees will not have to pay tax on a 'Trivial Benefit'. Following HMRC guidelines, a Christmas Gift could qualify for this if;

•it cost you £50 or less to provide
•it isn’t cash or a cash voucher (Store vouchers that are only exchangeable for goods are ok)
•it isn’t a reward for their work or performance
•it isn’t in the terms of their contract

We all know times are tight, but there really is no reason to be a Scrooge when a small gift & some Christmas cheer will really lift the mood.
