💜 Another home visit, another reminder of exactly why I do this.

I visited a gentleman recently who's currently on Universal Credit and, like so many people right now, finding it a real struggle to keep on top of things.

We sat down and went through his bills together — no jargon, no pressure, just a proper look at what he was actually paying and what he was actually getting.

By the end of it, we'd:

✅ Lowered his overall bills by over £50 a month
✅ Found he was paying for insurance he wasn't even getting the right level of service on — switching that alone saved him £14 a month

That's over £64 a month back in his pocket. Money that makes a real difference when every pound is already accounted for.

He hadn't done anything wrong — he'd just never had the time, or someone alongside him, to properly check. That's the bit that gets me every time. So many people aren't overpaying because they've been careless. They're overpaying because life is busy and nobody's ever sat down and looked.

If you, or someone you know, is finding things tight right now — this is exactly what I'm here for. No judgement, no pressure. Just an honest look at your bills, completely free.

⚡ Energy bills aren't just going up this autumn — there's more to come in the new year.

Here's where things actually stand:

Confirmed: Ofgem's price cap rose 4% on 1 October, taking the typical bill to £1,723 a year.

Forecast for January: Cornwall Insight — the analysts most trusted for getting these calls right — are currently predicting a further 9% rise from January, pushing the typical bill up to around £1,872 a year. That's roughly £149 more, on top of what's already gone up in October.

Some forecasters are pricing in an even steeper rise, so this could move further before Ofgem confirms the real figure in late November.

There is a small bit of good news: the government has cut VAT on electricity from 5% to 0% between October and the end of March, which takes a little of the sting out — but it's nowhere near enough to offset the scale of these rises on its own.

If you're on a standard variable tariff, all of this lands on your bill automatically. The good news is you don't have to just wait and see what happens — fixing now, while there are still deals priced below where the cap is heading, is worth a serious look.

I'll compare what's actually available for your household, completely free, so you can make an informed decision before January lands.

Do you know about the Priority Services Register?

It's a free service that energy and water suppliers offer to households who might need a bit of extra support — whether that's due to age, disability, illness, a new baby in the house, or simply going through a tough financial patch.

Being registered means things like advance warning of power cuts, extra help if your supply goes down, and support tailored to your situation — completely free, and it takes minutes to set up.

Here's the thing though — I speak to so many families where life is just... busy. Bills get put in a drawer, meant to be looked at "another day," and that day never quite comes. With energy rates continuing to rise, that's exactly when things can start slipping through the cracks.

So alongside helping you register for the Priority Services Register, I'll also do a completely free bill review — checking your energy, broadband, and insurance to make sure you're not paying more than you need to, and that you're properly protected going forward.

In times like these, it's not about doing everything at once. It's about having someone in your corner who checks, so you don't have to.

If this could help you, or someone you love, send me a message.

📈 Ever wondered why energy bills keep climbing? This chart tells the story.

That's UK wholesale natural gas — up 142% in the last year alone, now sitting at its highest point since the chart began.

Here's why that matters to you:

Wholesale gas prices are a major part of what determines the Ofgem price cap. When wholesale costs rise like this, it doesn't stay on a trading screen — it eventually lands on your bill.

We've already seen the cap rise 4% this October. If wholesale prices keep climbing like they have since the summer, it's a fair bet more rises could follow into winter.

This is exactly why fixing your tariff now — while there are still fixed deals priced below the cap — is worth a serious look. A tracker could also make sense depending on your situation, but going in without checking either option means you're just hoping for the best.

I'll compare what's actually available for your household, free of charge, so you're making an informed decision rather than guessing.

⚡ Even Martin Lewis is saying it now: it’s time to look at fixing your energy tariff.

With the price cap rising 4% from 1 October, Martin Lewis has been urging households on standard variable tariffs to get onto a fixed deal while the cheaper fixes are still available. His analysis shows the cheapest fixes are currently around 8% below the current price cap, and roughly 11% below the cap coming into force in October.

And it’s not just about October — the January price cap is currently predicted to rise by more than 10% , so locking in a rate now could protect you well beyond the winter.

Here’s the part most people don’t realise: fixing isn’t your only option. Tracker tariffs can also be a smart move, especially if you think wholesale prices might fall — they move with the market rather than locking you in, so you’re not stuck if rates drop.

The right choice — fixed, tracker, or staying put — depends entirely on your usage, your supplier, and what’s actually available right now. That’s exactly what I help with.

I’ll compare the best value tariffs on the market for your situation, fixed and tracker included, so you can make the right call before the October rise hits.

No jargon. No pressure. Just the facts, so you can decide.

Are you the type of person who shops around when your car insurance is due… or do you just let it auto-renew every year? 🤔

Be honest.

Because your energy, broadband, home insurance, and even your phone contract are pretty much the same thing — things you just keep renewing year after year.

Maybe you’re happy with the service, and that’s completely fine.

But are you actually happy paying more than you should be for it?

Loyalty rarely gets rewarded by providers anymore — it just means you’re less likely to be on the best deal. A quick, free comparison costs you nothing and takes minutes.

Drop me a message if you want to find out where you actually stand.

Do you feel a bit out of control with your household expenses? 😮‍💨

Maybe you’re still with the same provider you’ve been with for years — happy enough with what you get, but that monthly payment is slowly creeping up.

Sound familiar?

All it takes is one message to us about anything to do with your energy, broadband, or even your insurance — which could also do with a look at.

No pressure, no obligation. Just a simple, honest check to see if you’re still on the best deal for you.
