£474 billion. That’s the power of pay.
According to The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), the pay industry contributes around £474 billion to the UK economy each year through the collection of Income Tax and National Insurance.
It’s a huge figure, and a reminder that payroll is about far more than producing payslips.
Behind every payroll run are people managing deadlines, legislation, accuracy and the questions that come with paying employees correctly and on time.
For National Payroll Week, we’re proud to recognise our own payroll team and the work they do to support businesses and their employees throughout the year. 👏

There’s a lot more behind your payslip than you might think.
This week is National Payroll Week, a chance to recognise the people, knowledge and hard work behind making sure employees across the country are paid accurately and on time.
From calculations and compliance to pensions and ever-changing legislation, payroll plays an essential role in keeping businesses and their people moving.
We’re proud to join The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) in celebrating payroll professionals throughout the week. 👏

Saving for your first home? The way you do it could be set to change.
The Government has proposed replacing the Lifetime ISA with a new First Time Buyer ISA, with changes to how the government bonus would work and fewer penalties for withdrawing funds for other purposes.
The proposals are still under consultation, and there may be circumstances where a Lifetime ISA remains appropriate.
Our blog looks at what could change and what first-time buyers may want to consider before making any decisions.

Could changes to student loan repayments affect more than just your monthly payslip?
From this month, a 6% interest cap applies to Plan 2 student loans, while further changes to repayment thresholds could also affect graduates over the coming years.
For those balancing mortgages, pensions, savings and other financial commitments, student loan repayments are another factor worth considering as part of the bigger picture.
Our blog looks at what is changing and what it could mean for graduates and their families.

Living with your partner but not married?
Your legal position might not be what you think.
The Government has been consulting on significant changes to the rights of cohabiting couples in England and Wales, including greater protections following separation and when a partner dies without a will.
For now, though, unmarried couples still have far fewer automatic protections than married couples or civil partners.
Our blog looks at what could change, and why it may be worth reviewing the arrangements you currently have in place.
