Saving for your first home? A LISA could be worth knowing about.
Buying your first home can feel a bit like trying to save for a moving target. House prices, deposits, solicitors, surveys… and somehow you’re also supposed to enjoy your weekends!
One option that can help is a Lifetime ISA (LISA).
If you’re eligible, you can save up to £4,000 a year into a LISA and the government adds a 25% bonus — so if you save £4,000, you could receive an extra £1,000! That could give your house deposit a useful little boost.
There are rules around who can open one, when you can use the money and the type of property you can buy, so it’s important to understand how it works before you start saving, but if buying your first home is on your radar, it’s definitely something worth looking into.
If you're not sure whether a LISA could work for you? Get in touch and we can help you understand the options.
