Three years ago, I set myself a few personal bucket-list challenges.
One of them was for my children to see me run the London Marathon. They weren't even born when I first completed it, and it was something Id always wanted them to experience.
In 2024, I achieved that dream with Ollie there to see me finish, In 2025, I got to do it again with Maisie watching & this year, I pushed things slightly further by completing both the Paris and London Marathons within two weeks & yes, I was still paying the price for that three months later.
There are still plenty of challenges I want to tick off before my body properly gives up on me, however, there was always one bucket-list that I thought would be incredible, although I never really thought it would happen which was to run the London Marathon with one of the children.
Well, thanks to Children with Cancer UK, that one is going to become a reality as Ollie and I will be running the 2027 TCS London Marathon together.
Ollie doesnt even turn 18 until January, so hell be taking this on at a very young age. Ive been fortunate enough to run London a few times now, and every time has been special. But standing on that start line alongside Ollie and, hopefully, crossing the finish line together or at least within a few minutes of each other, will be something I cherish forever.
We’ll be doing it while raising money for Children with Cancer UK and I’d also like to thank them for giving us this opportunity.
The training or should I say, the competition between us, has already started as our standard Monday evening gym session, had a bit more bite to it
