Leeds Libraries is looking to work with a theatre company on our 2027/2028 festive show, creating an exciting theatrical experience for children and families at Leeds City Library.

We’re inviting family theatre companies to find out more about the opportunity and our ambitions for the show.

Can you believe it's been 400 years since Leeds was officially recognised? We've got celebration talks, events and an exhibition going on at Leeds City Library throughout October, but we aren't the first people to celebrate our great city.

On 14 October, Robert Demaine will look back 100 years to an earlier anniversary in the city’s history: the Leeds Tercentenary of 1926. You can get a flavour of the celebrations from this image, in which our forebearers re-enacted the foundation of Kirkstall Abbey (in Roundhay Park funnily enough).
