This month, we’ve partnered with our friends at Ecologi to plant more native trees on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. 🌳
Just four miles from the main town of Portree, the Uigshader project is well on the way to converting a former commercial pine timber plantation into prime native habitat. 🐿
The conservation team first built a 6km perimeter fence to protect the saplings from deer, and began planting in 2022. The target is 30,000 native trees – birch, hazel, rowan and oak – and 20,000 have been planted so far with a 95% survival rate.
The project has funding support from International Tree Foundation, The Woodland Trust, Inspire Scotland and climate-conscious businesses across the UK.
We’ve planted almost 3000 trees to date - including saplings in Madagascar, Ethiopia and Scotland this month - to maintain our net zero commitment.
