Konexa is a UK-headquartered energy development and investment company focused on accelerating renewable energy access across Africa, particularly through innovative power trading, grid infrastructure, and clean energy solutions for commercial and industrial clients. The company operates a unique model that combines renewable energy generation, transmission and distribution upgrades, and private energy trading platforms to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity in markets where grid constraints remain a major challenge. Its approach is designed to support both decarbonisation and improved energy access while strengthening national power infrastructure.

Financial Markets Indaba: Africa Infrastructure and Energy Conference - London
Speaker - Gilead Teri, Director General, Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA)
The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority has emerged as one of East Africa’s most significant institutions focused on accelerating investment, industrialisation, and export-led growth. Established under the Investment and Special Economic Zones Act No. 6 of 2025, TISEZA consolidated the former Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) into a single streamlined authority, creating a more coordinated and investor-friendly “One Stop Centre” for investment approvals, licensing, incentives, and Special Economic Zone administration.
Recent reforms have introduced a modernised investment framework aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and investor confidence. The framework provides clearer approval timelines, investor protections, guarantees on repatriation of funds, and enhanced fiscal incentives including corporate tax holidays, VAT exemptions, customs duty exemptions, and relief on local taxes. These measures continue to strengthen Tanzania’s competitiveness as a manufacturing, logistics, and industrial hub in Africa.
Tanzania has also recorded strong investment momentum under the new framework, approving a record 915 investment projects valued at approximately US$10.95 billion in 2025. TISEZA has further expanded the country’s industrialisation agenda through the rollout of five new Special Economic Zones targeting sectors such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, agro-processing, automotive assembly, electronics, logistics, and green energy, reinforcing Tanzania’s growing role within regional and AfCFTA trade markets.
