At our recent Hero Exchange Leaders' Lunch, brilliantly moderated by Courtney Pomerenke, we explored the intersection of elite sports and business growth with Manly Warringah Sea Eagles CEO Jason King and our Global Head of Talent Kate Jolly.
The biggest takeaway of the day: workplaces can benefit from the basic disciplines of high performance sport.
As Jason King pointed out, elite teams thrive on brutal, ego-free accountability. So how do you bring that mindset into your business?
✅ Discipline builds trust: Simple, non-negotiable standards, like arriving to meetings on time and greeting your team every day, build the baseline of respect required to push people harder.
✅ Feedback is not a personal attack: Elite athletes review game tape and expect blunt feedback to improve. Workplaces can benefit from that same level of radical, ego-free candour.
