Following yesterdays Autumn Budget, please find attached our Summary Report. Please feel free to share with friends and family.

So once again Rachel Reeves sticks another knife into the back of small limited company business owners, (who she needs to grow the economy) adding 2% to tax on dividend income, on the basis of the unfairness in the disparity between the tax paid on earnings between "workers" and "non-workers" (the latter of which which us small business owners seem to be deemed as).

Talk about fairness; does a PAYE person have sleepless nights worrying about how they will pay wages at the end of the month? Do they carry the stresses a business owner carries in these tough economic times, working crazy hours many small business owners do to keep the businesses afloat?

We were prepared to take the risks to grow a business, employ a small number of staff and make a small contribution to economic growth, as long as there were rewards for doing so.

The rewards are rapidly being removed (Employers NI last year), leaving us small business owners carrying all the risks.

Hello everyone…

So I’ve been a little quiet on here recently…however that certainly doesn’t mean I’ve not been busy!

I’m back….. with a little refresh! I’ve got my own kitchen (just for ) and I’m now baking full-time … it’s cake cake cake!!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending a mini-conference hosted by Xero at The Greyhound Hotel in Carshalton.

It was a great opportunity to meet other local accountancy firms and get to know the Xero team better. It was a really insightful morning – and the breakfast was excellent too.

A lot of the discussion focused on MTD for ITSA and how Xero is developing its software to support accountants through these changes, including a new AI tool which I was particularly impressed with.

My key takeaways:

- DG Accountancy Services are ahead of the curve in terms of readiness for MTD for ITSA
- The conversion process we’ve gone through puts us in a strong position as April 2026 gets closer
- The procedures and processes we’ve adopted for MTD for ITSA mean we can scale quickly and efficiently as more affected clients come on board

It’s been a while since my last update, and a lot has happened at DG Accountancy Services!

First, I want to recognise the hard work and dedication of our team:
Congratulations to Adam on his well-deserved promotion to Practice Manager.

Huge kudos to Chris for passing his first two Professional Stage ACA exams, after acing all six Certificate level exams on his first attempt.

I’m genuinely grateful to work alongside such committed professionals who consistently deliver high-quality, on-brand services to our clients.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been:

Preparing many clients for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self Assessment (MTD for ITSA), launching in April 2026.

Advising our Director clients on obtaining their new Personal Codes, in line with the latest Companies House requirements.

Getting ready for the upcoming budget and any surprises it may bring.

As we head into the festive season, we’re looking forward to a short break before another busy January, supporting clients as we approach the 31st January self-assessment tax return deadline.
