There’s something extra lovely about supporting small at this time of year.
Cosying up in an independent coffee shop, buying your Halloween bits from a local maker or starting the Christmas shopping somewhere that isn’t a giant warehouse.
Small businesses are incredibly resilient. We adapt, keep going and somehow find new ways to show up, even when running a business feels like three full time jobs wearing our “big” coat.
Every order, booking, share and recommendation genuinely matters. It keeps our high streets full of personality, supports families and helps brilliant local businesses make it through another year.
So this autumn, shop small when you can. Your support means more than you probably realise 🫶🏼
Tag your biz or favourite independent business below so we can all discover somewhere new 👇🏼

forget the dramatic reset!
Start with one useful job: upload the receipts, check the bank, chase an invoice or look at what’s coming up
If you have any questions on best ways to stay up to date going forward , you know where we are ☺️

We’re still here. Working ,making the most of the summer with the kids and not having brain capacity for socials too 🙃

We’re officially out of office for a week ☀️
We only escape between deadline dates which allows us to fully switch off and leave the laptops at home , we won’t be checking emails, whatsapps or answering calls so we can fully switch off 🫶🏼
We’ll be back working from 18/08, refreshed, recharged and probably questioning why we ever came home 😂

Late payment fees aren’t rude.
Late payments are.
They protect your cash flow, your time, your sanity and they’re completely legitimate to charge.
If someone respects your business, they’ll respect your payment terms too 🫶🏼
Save this for when the “I get paid Friday can I pay you then” message arrives 🫠

We’ve accepted that today’s main task is discussing the weather…..again

Just the basics, please.
Getting your head around the basics can make a huge difference to how confident you feel running things.
Even filling out forms can feel overwhelming if the terminology isn’t what your used to
Save this for later so you always have a quick reference when you need it 🤓

HMRC can make you question your life choices , but there’s quite a few other things that will make a small business owner want to stomp their feet too!
The “quick questions”, unpaid invoices , 47 emails to chase and apparently always having time for a chat 🤣🫠
All that being said, we wouldn’t have it any other way would we!?

We admire the optimism. 😂
If you’re buying it because you’re hot, tired, or simply trying to survive another heatwave… unfortunately, HMRC probably won’t agree it’s an allowable expense.
(Yes… we know. We wish they did too.)
