Once your finances reach a certain level, the real questions begin.
Not about the best ISA or beating inflation, but about whether your wealth is truly supporting the life you want to lead.
At Nova, these are the questions we hear most often—from clients navigating complexity and seeking clarity:
“What does this mean for me?”
“What’s the smartest way to pass wealth on?”
“Am I missing something?”
“How do I simplify all this?”
“Can you just show me the big picture?”
If you’ve asked yourself any of these, you’re not alone. Now is the time to bring them to the surface.

💬 “People don’t want tips. They want clarity.”
In FTAdviser, our co-founder Joseph McLean shares why the FCA’s latest review is a bold step — but not the full answer.
Guidance helps. But most people still want real advice — someone to sort the details, simplify the decisions, and tell them what to do.
The long-term solution? A better blend of people + tech.
What is the Advice Guidance Boundary Review (AGBR)?
It’s the FCA’s plan to make it easier for firms to support people without crossing into formal advice.
The goal: help more people access financial support — especially those who wouldn’t typically get it.
A great move in the right direction. But as Joseph puts it, we’ll need more than guidance to truly close the gap.

⏳ A critical deadline for your retirement
On 5th April 2025, your chance to fill gaps in your National Insurance (NI) record could disappear.
Why it matters: If you don’t have 35 years of NI contributions, you may miss out on the full State Pension—potentially losing thousands over your retirement.
The key deadline: right now, you can buy back missing years as far as 2006. After April 2025, you’ll only be able to go back six years.
What to do:
✔ Check your NI record
✔ See if filling the gaps makes sense for you
✔ Act before it’s too late
📖 Our colleague Simon Cahill APFS, Chartered FCSI breaks it down in our latest article.

🚀 NOVA in The Telegraph! 🚀
“Cash ISAs soared in popularity when interest rates shot up, but enthusiasm for them is now waning. We now see more clients focused on trying to max out their pensions and stocks & shares ISAs. As interest rates taper, leaving money sitting in a low-yield cash ISA feels like a missed opportunity.” – Joseph McLean, Founding Partner at NOVA Wealth
We’re proud to have NOVA’s insights featured in The Telegraph, shedding light on how savers are shifting their strategies in today’s evolving financial landscape.

📣 NOVA in the News 📣
"Your company will be contributing ’free’ money to your retirement pot (as long as you are saving a bit yourself too). Your employer’s contribution to your pension plus the fact you get tax relief on contributions usually more than doubles the money being put away compared to saving it elsewhere."
Andrew McMillan, founding partner at NOVA Wealth, was recently quoted in the Daily Express, discussing the benefits of workplace pensions.
