What a weekend. 🥹🐾

We just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who made Pet Pro Expo 2026 so special.

Pet Pro Expo is a separate business and event that Tegyn and I have built together, but there’s naturally a little crossover between the two worlds - and some of the amazing people who work with us at The Pet Accountant also became part of the Pet Pro Expo team for the day.

And we genuinely couldn’t have done it without them. ❤️

A huge thank you to every single attendee who came through the doors. Whether it was your first Expo or you’ve been with us from the beginning, thank you for showing up, getting involved, connecting with other pet professionals and making the room what it was.

To our incredible speakers - thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience and stories.

To our sponsors - thank you for believing in the event and supporting what we’re building.

And to the team who worked behind the scenes and on the day - thank you for giving your time, energy and everything you had to make it happen.

We’ve watched the Pet Pro Expo grow into something really special, and seeing so many people from the pet industry come together in one room was honestly pretty incredible.

Thank you for being part of it. 🩷🩵

If you’ve been charging the same prices for years, this is your reminder to take another look.

The cost of running a business today is very different to what it was even a couple of years ago.

Yet so many pet business owners are still using prices that were set when they first started.

The result?

Working harder. Taking on more clients. Filling the diary.
But not necessarily making more money.

A pricing review doesn’t mean doubling your prices overnight.

It simply means checking whether your current prices still make sense for the business you’re running today.

When was the last time you reviewed yours? 👇

If I wanted pet businesses to fail, I’d probably keep these hacks to myself. 👀😂

But we actually want to see more pet businesses succeed - and sometimes it’s the simple things that make the biggest difference.

None of these sound particularly groundbreaking.

But we see SO many pet business owners making things harder for themselves because nobody ever told them they could do it differently.

And honestly?

You don’t need to know everything.

You need to know what you need to know - and know who to ask when you don’t.

That’s why having the right people around your business matters.

You don’t have to build your business completely on your own.

And if you’re not sure what your numbers are actually telling you…
that’s where we come in. 🐾

We’re The Pet Accountant - accountants who specialise in the pet industry and, importantly, speak human.

💭 You’ve changed your prices… but how do you know if the change actually worked?

In this week’s final episode of Vicky’s P.R.I.C.E Framework series, we reach the final stage: E - Evaluate.

Changing your prices isn’t a one-off decision. Your costs change, your business evolves, your goals shift and your pricing needs to evolve with them.

But how do you know whether a price change has actually made your business stronger?

In this episode of the Pet Accountant Podcast, Vicky explores what you should be looking at after changing your prices - and why you shouldn’t judge the results based on one client leaving or a few quiet days.

She covers:
🐾 The key areas to evaluate after changing your prices
🐾 Why revenue and profit can tell very different stories
🐾 Tracking your average transaction value and client numbers
🐾 How pricing changes can affect your capacity and workload
🐾 Why losing a few clients isn’t necessarily a bad thing
🐾 Whether you’re attracting a better mix of clients
🐾 How client feedback can help you refine your services
🐾 Why how you feel about your business matters too
🐾 Why setting a review date is better than reacting emotionally
🐾 How to use what you’ve learned to adjust and repeat the process

Because there is no single perfect price.

Your costs change. Your business changes. Your goals change. And your pricing should change with them.

🎧 Listen to the full episode now by searching ‘Pet Accountant Podcast’ on Spotify and find out how to evaluate whether your pricing is actually working for your pet business.

YOUR POSTCODE ISN’T A PRICING STRATEGY.

Just because nobody else around you is charging a certain amount doesn’t mean you can’t.

We see too many business owners using their location as a reason to keep their prices low.

But your prices need to work for your business.
Your costs. Your time. Your goals.

Not what the person down the road is charging.

Because if your pricing doesn’t make sense for your business, it doesn’t matter what everyone else is doing.

Agree or disagree? Let us know your thoughts. 👇👀

The truth?

A lot of business owners spend far too much time feeling guilty.

Guilty for taking a day off. Guilty for charging more. Guilty for not replying instantly. Guilty for wanting to make a profit. Guilty for putting themselves first for once.

But your business was never meant to take over your entire life.

You’re allowed to set boundaries. You’re allowed to pay yourself. You’re allowed to build a business that works for you, not just your clients.

Making money doesn’t make you greedy. Taking time off doesn’t make you lazy.

It makes you human. 🧡

Fully booked. Working 6 days a week.
So why does it still feel like there’s never any money left? 🤔

This dog groomer came to us feeling frustrated.
The diary was full, clients were booking and money was coming in.
But every tax bill felt like a nasty surprise.

After reviewing the business, we found:
✅ Expenses that hadn’t been claimed
✅ Pricing that wasn’t generating enough profit
✅ Issues with previous tax returns
✅ No clear plan for future tax bills

Once everything was put right, their next tax bill was 32% lower.

But the biggest difference wasn’t the tax saving.

It was finally understanding where the money was going and feeling more in control of the business.

The reality is that many pet business owners are either:
* Doing their own tax return and hoping for the best
* Using an accountant who doesn’t really understand the pet industry

Both can end up costing you money.

Does this sound familiar? DM us “PET” and we can see how we can support your business. 🧡
