👋 Meet the team: Nicola

Nicola joined David Howard as a graduate trainee in 1998 and became a Partner in 2003. She's built her whole career here.

Audit's been her thing for over 26 years, working with everyone from owner-managed businesses to larger corporates. Her take: a good audit should do more than tick a box, it should actually help clients understand their business better.

She also advises on accounting and tax, and has played a big part in growing the firm along the way.

Outside work, she's always got the next trip planned. Says it clears her head and helps her come back to work with fresh eyes.

What matters to us at David Howard?

It comes down to three things: people, technology and finding a better way to do things. 💡

👥 People who know their stuff, work well together and keep learning.

💻 Technology that takes away unnecessary admin and gives us better ways to work.

🔧 And a willingness to question how we do things. If there's a better way, we'd rather find it than stick with something because it's always been done that way.

They're simple ideas, but they shape how we work as a team every day.

Gifting an asset doesn't dodge Capital Gains Tax. It can still leave you with a tax bill and no cash to pay it.

A lot of people assume CGT only applies when money changes hands. It doesn't.

Simon has been leading David Howard since 1996, helping grow the firm from a team of just seven people into the regional practice we are today. 📈

One thing that's never changed? He still works closely with clients, helping businesses navigate their finance and accounting challenges every day.

Simon has always seen David Howard as an extended family, and that people-first approach is a big part of who we are.

When he's not at work, you'll probably find him on the hockey pitch 🏑, out cycling 🚴, or squeezing in a round of golf ⛳.

Frank leads our Bookkeeping Services team and works closely with businesses to help them make the most of cloud accounting and smarter financial reporting. 📊

He's passionate about using technology to make finance simpler, helping clients find the right systems to support their growth.

Outside the office, Frank loves spending time with his daughter, Amelia. He's also been practising karate since childhood 🥋 and is a huge fan of Japanese sports cars - you'll often find him at a track day or car show somewhere in Europe! 🏎️

🎪 Some of our favourite work happens outside the office.

We love local fundraising, from the Weybridge summer fete 🎡 to sponsored challenges like Ride London 🚴‍♂️💨.

It's our way of giving back to the community that's supported us for years, while raising money for causes close to our hearts, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Cancer Research and Shine 💙.

That same community spirit runs through our sponsorships too. We support Friends of Manby Lodge, helping families at Manby Lodge Infant School in Weybridge, and we've backed local sports clubs including Sunbury & Walton Hawks.
