Last week, WeAreTheCity and WeAreTechWomen brought together some of their brilliant TechWomen100 and RisingStar Awards alumni for a Speed Mentoring session as part of one of their leadership programmes. ❤️

The idea is simple, the women on the programme come along with the career questions and challenges that are on their minds right now, and spend time with women who have their own experiences, lessons and advice to share.

No slides, no presentations, just lots of honest conversations, different perspectives and practical advice.

What makes these sessions particularly special is seeing women from the WeAreTheCity and WeAreTechWomen communities coming back to give their time and help others navigate their careers.

A huge thank you to last week’s mentors, Manisha Arora, Suzan Ward née Boylan, Kathy Lewis and Obigali Okofor - You were brilliant 🙌

A big shout out to the wonderful women on the programme, who came with great questions, open minds and plenty of energy. ❤️

A lovely example of community in action, sharing experiences, opening up conversations and helping other women move forward.

🚀 ONE WEEK TO GO! 🚀

This time next week, Women in Tech Week 2026 begins! ❤️

Now in our third year, this week has grown into something really special, with over 100 in-person and virtual events taking place across the country, bringing together organisations, communities, speakers and individuals to celebrate women in tech, share knowledge, open doors and create opportunities.

From 12–16 October, there is so much to get involved in, covering everything from breaking barriers and technical skills to career pivots, returners, mentorship and allyship.

We kick things off in Manchester with our headline sponsor Lloyds Banking Group, and from there, it is a whole week of conversations, learning, connection and celebration.

A huge thank you to every organisation hosting an event, every speaker giving their time, every community getting involved and everyone working behind the scenes to make this happen. ❤️

There is still time to get involved, book into an event, share the week with your colleagues and communities, and on Friday 16 October, share your own Women in Tech story on LinkedIn as we celebrate women in tech across the country.

ONE WEEK TO GO! Who’s joining us? 🙌❤️ Link to book events in bio.

We are incredibly proud to have the support of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), the Women in Tech Taskforce and Vicky Foxcroft MP, Minister for Digital Skills and Inclusion and Co-Chair of the Women in Tech Taskforce, for Women in Tech Week 2026. ❤️
As Vicky says, women make up just 29% of the tech workforce, and far too many still face barriers when it comes to progressing and leading in the sector.

This is exactly why Women in Tech Week matters.

From 12–16 October, we are bringing together organisations, communities, employers and individuals across the UK, all with a shared ambition to support women in technology, open doors of opportunity, showcase incredible role models and inspire the next generation.

At a time when technology and AI are transforming our world at incredible speed, we need women to be part of that change, helping to build it, lead it and shape what comes next.
A huge thank you to DCMS, the Women in Tech Taskforce and Vicky Foxcroft MP for supporting Women in Tech Week and recognising the importance of creating an industry where women can thrive. ❤️

There is still time to get involved. Attend an event and help us spread the word. You can also get involved by sharing your own Women in Tech story across social media and LinkedIn on 16 October, as we come together to celebrate women in tech all over the country.

12–16 October 2026. Let’s make some noise! ❤️

Where were WeAreTheCity and WeAreTechWomen today? ❤️

We were at one of our leadership programmes for their annual Speed Mentoring event.

For this session, we ask everyone to come prepared with their career conundrums, the things they’re navigating, the questions they’re wrestling with, or simply an area where they could do with a fresh perspective.

We then bring in some of our brilliant award-winning alumni from and the Awards to share their experiences, offer advice and hopefully provide a little inspiration along the way.

There is always so much energy in the room, and we love seeing women who have been recognised through our awards coming back to share what they have learned with those coming through behind them. ❤️

A huge thank you to today’s mentors, Manisha Arora, Darcy Gleeson
Anne Awele Nwaokolo, Arya Nair
Suzan Ward née Boylan, Victoria Brasier, Sherlin Mathew, Parul Wadhwa, Anna Abraham
and Shannon Keegan - you were awesome 🙌

Yes it was a Monday, yes the weather was questionable, but it didn’t stop us.

Last night the WeAreTheCity and WeAreTechWomen community came together at our City and Tech social.

No big agenda, just women meeting women, a bit of speed networking, good vibes and connections.

What a beautiful evening it was. Thank you to everyone who came along, including our brand new 2026 winners. It was so lovely to meet you all.

A big thank you to ETM Group London for hosting us and always supporting our work.

If you want to find out about our future events, follow in to our LinkedIn pages, sign up as a free member in wearetechwomen.com or follow us instagram here ❤️

Ps if you are London City based we could not recommend Aviary
more highly - Beautiful skyline, awesome drinks and food. A must visit.
