I first started advising in financial services in 2008 with Alliance and Leicester and following the take-over by Santander, he had a successful career where he spent 5 years servicing long-standing clients of Santander. In 2013 Neil set up on his own with the help of Positive Solutions and a year later joined Lighthouse Financial Advice where he spent five years before joining Killimore Financial Management in 2020. Do you know if your adviser is independent or restricted?

Adviser charges vary widely with both types (FCA data, 2025 – figures and assumptions on the image). The bigger difference is choice: a restricted adviser may recommend from a limited range, while an independent adviser considers a diverse range from across the market.
