Tax Year End Planning 26/02/2026

🚨 Tax Year End is Approaching – Have You Checked What You Could Be Missing?

The 5th of April isn’t just another date in the diary. It’s the point where allowances reset — and opportunities disappear.

Before the tax year ends, it’s worth reviewing things like:

✔ Pension contributions
✔ Dividend allowance
✔ ISA allowance
✔ Capital gains exemption
✔ Salary and bonus planning
✔ Gift Aid and Marriage Allowance
✔ High Income Child Benefit planning

Many of these can’t be fixed after 5 April.

I’ve put together a simple, practical Tax Year End Planning Guide to help you understand what to review — whether you’re a company director, landlord, business owner or individual taxpayer.

It’s clear, straightforward and designed to help you spot planning opportunities early.

As always, if you’d prefer to talk it through properly, we’re here.

I.D. Verification 25/02/2026

🚨 Companies House ID Verification Is Here 🚨

If you’re a company director or a person with significant control (PSC), new identity verification rules will soon be mandatory.

Introduced under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, these changes are designed to reduce fraud and improve transparency — but they will require action from business owners.

Failing to verify could mean you’re unable to file documents or even act as a director.

We’ve written a simple guide explaining:
✔ Who must comply
✔ Why the rules were introduced
✔ How verification works
✔ How we can help as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider

Don’t leave it until the last minute.

Are you a landlord in Stirling, Bridge of Allan or Dunblane?

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax starts in April 2026.

If your rental income is over £50,000, you will need to:

• Keep digital records
• Use compatible software
• Submit quarterly updates to HMRC

From April 2027, the threshold drops to £30,000.

This applies even if you only have one or two rental properties.

Many landlords still rely on spreadsheets or manual records — which may not meet the new requirements.

At Robertsons Tax Ltd, we’re helping local landlords prepare now, so there’s no last-minute stress and no risk of penalties.

If you’re unsure whether this affects you, send us a message and we’ll explain clearly where you stand.
