Nothing has changed in the stated intention of Government policy, and, from April 2026, farm land in excess of around 65 acres at current values in your sole name could leave your Estate facing an effective 20% tax charge. Land has no cash. Your Estate will be forced to pay this tax from your savings, from a partial sale, or from successors having to borrow. Act now to evaluate and mitigate your potential liability. There is a Budget due on 26 November, and it may make changes, or it may not. No one knows. At least consider your situation. You're most welcome to contact us to discuss.
