Today is the first day after a long school holidays that both kids are out all day.

Missing them, but we're only a morning in and the peace has driven productivity through the roof!

As a society, are we losing patience?

As I was making breakfast the other day, my 4 year-old was shouting "COME ON!" at the telly in the other room all because an advert came on.

When I was 4, an advert came on and I just found the nearest toy to play with. Life was slower.

If you think about it, going on holiday meant waiting weeks for a post card to arrive. Then we got mobile phones and it was a phone call. Now it's a video call, instantly, every day of the holiday if you want it.

A generation and a mindset is growing that's never really had to wait for anything.

I've definitely seen it in work. Broadly speaking, those that look for the 'get-rich quick' schemes tend to be the younger generation. Maybe there's the naivety, maybe it's now just culture.

Waiting feels like wasted time.

Don't sleep on doing the simple things right. Putting money aside, consistently, for long enough and you can still enjoy life now while building for a life ahead.

Patience isn't old-fashioned. It's perhaps just feels harder in today's age to practise than it used to be.

Not a bad way to end a very long week!

Ask yourself the right questions and you’re already halfway to a financial plan.

Most people just never sit down and ask them.

The key is having clarity on what you’re actually working towards, whether for your family or for yourself, before you start figuring out the “how.”

That bit is on you to answer. The bit after is where I come in.

It appears people are starting to think that all I do is play golf and go to networking events.

So I've popped into the office today to take a photo as proof that I do, in fact, also work.

Evidence secured. Time to go home now.

My social battery is well and truly drained after yesterday.

It started with some 7am emergency messages with Elliot Ghali💬 “have you seen the weather?!”

We were supposed to be filming at Cusworth Hall. Luckily, Tracie and the team at Pristine Commercial Cleaning so kindly offered us a solution.

On to Costa to see Andrew Lofthouse DipWSET discussing all things business, inevitably falling into wine and whisky. He’s now on the to find a specific Greek wine I had on holiday last year which turns out isn’t in the UK!
