π¨ When the economy gets tough, should you cut costs or focus on growing revenue?
For many businesses, the first instinct is to start cutting.
But cutting costs isn't always the answer. Cut too deeply, and you could end up removing the very things that help your business generate revenue.
Instead, take a closer look at where your money is going.
π· Cut:
βοΈ Unused subscriptions
βοΈ Inefficient processes
βοΈ Poor supplier deals
βοΈ Unprofitable products or services
π Protect:
βοΈ Marketing that brings in customers
βοΈ Employees who drive productivity
βοΈ Technology that saves time
βοΈ Customer service that keeps customers coming back
Then ask yourself:
Are we growing revenue, or are we growing profitable revenue?
Because Β£50,000 more in sales means very little if it doesn't translate into stronger profit and cash flow.
In a challenging economy, the businesses that come out strongest won't necessarily be those that cut the most.
They'll be the ones that know what to cut, what to protect and where to invest.
π¬ What would you focus on right now: cutting costs or increasing revenue?
