What is Making Tax Digital? 👩‍💻

MTD for Income Tax is the next step in the MTD timeline from HMRC. From April 2026 if you have an income of over £50,000 annually, from self employment or property rental, you'll need to use MTD compatible software to:

✅ Keep digital records.
✅ Submit income and expense summaries quarterly to HMRC.
✅ Finalise your end-of-year Tax Return using compliant software.

Key Points💭:

✅ You will be assessed on your income from the 2024/25 tax year.
✅ You will need to submit quarterly updates to HMRC with a final submission that includes all of your other taxable income by 31 January each year.
✅ The quarterly update deadlines will be 7th August, 7th November, 7th February and 7th May.
