Team Clear Vision Bake Off 2026.
Well Bread Week has been and gone and frankly, we’ve seen better rises in the cost of living. The Technical Challenge? An absolute car crash, as every single baker produced flatbreads so undercooked they resembled cow pats. Some called them fat breads, others called them inedible. Seventeen years of judging and apparently Paul Hollywood has never witnessed such a monumental flour-based fluff-up. Oh come on Paul, if EVERYONE gets it wrong, perhaps the recipe was written by someone who thinks yeast is a type of infection? Just a thought…
Meanwhile, Molly packed her bags and left the Bake Off tent, her rock-hard buns better suited to a game of cricket than a cream tea. Tough break Molly.
But wait… there’s a banana in the building! Just when we thought our baking ambitions had flatlined, our very own Sally arrived at Clear Vision HQ this morning, armed with a banana loaf that deserves its own agent and a book deal.
Photo One: Sally, rocking her chef’s hat, like the Nigella Lawson of Corsham. Photo Two: The star of the show. Golden, gloriously moist banana bread. Beautifully risen, perfectly cooked and absolutely no sign of a soggy bottom.
Sally, we salute you. While the official bakers produced edible doorstops, you’ve served up a slice of pure perfection. You’ve restored our faith in flour, rescued our taste buds and reminded us that baking is supposed to involve COOKING the darn thing!
Anyway, enough of this loafing about. Tomorrow night, the bakers return for the Desserts Challenge. Expect custards to curdle, mousses to collapse and at least one contestant to have a complete meltdown over a missing piping bag. Will anyone rise to the occasion? Will somebody’s tart fall apart? And who’ll be trying to cream their way out of a sticky situation?
Stay tuned you magnificent bunch of batter-chuckers. This is… Team Clear Vision Bake Off 2026!
