What does good financial advice really look like?
I recently had the pleasure of attending an excellent event at L&G alongside Dinta and people from across the New Leaf Distribution network.
I was privileged to represent Principle Financial Services on a panel with Rachel Lane, Sam Wallis and Mike Sharp, with the discussion expertly led by Jo Coan.
One message from the day particularly stood out to me:
“Clients don’t arrive with a product problem. They arrive with a life problem.”
For me, that sums up exactly what financial advice should be about.
People don’t usually seek financial advice simply because they want a pension, investment, protection policy or mortgage. They come to us because something is happening in their life.
They may be approaching retirement, supporting their family, dealing with bereavement, building a business or simply wondering whether they have done enough for the future.
That is why we listen first at Principle. We take the time to understand you, your circumstances and what matters most before helping you make informed and confident decisions.
It is what sits at the heart of everything we do:
People before pounds. Client first. Making a difference.
A huge thank you to L&G for hosting such a fantastic day, including Adam Moore and James Giblin.
Thank you also to Mark Hobbs, Dan Hobbs, Sam Wallis, Luca Frankis, Brad Kenworthy and everyone at New Leaf Distribution for bringing the day together, as well as Jo Coan, Rachel Lane and Mike Sharp for their contributions to such an enjoyable and thought-provoking panel discussion.
I came away feeling incredibly positive about the future of financial advice and, most importantly, the difference it can make to people’s lives.
