๐จHMRC payment on account deadline reminder๐จ
You need to make payments on account if your Self Assessment tax bill is over ยฃ1,000 and less than 80% of your tax is collected through PAYE.
Payment on account applies mainly to self-employed individuals, landlords, and anyone who completes a Self Assessment tax return.
โขPayment on account means paying your Self Assessment tax in two advance instalments
โขEach payment is based on 50% of your previous yearโs tax bill
โขPayments are due on 31 January and 31 July each year
โขYou may need to make a balancing payment if your actual tax bill is higher
You need to make this payment before the end of July otherwise HMRC will charge interest on the amount due!

The Opportunity
We are offering a 12-month placement for a university student currently studying Accountancy degree. This role is ideal for someone undertaking a placement year as part of their course and looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Supporting bookkeeping and VAT return preparation
Assisting with personal and corporate tax computations
Working with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
Liaising with clients to gather financial information and resolve queries.
Providing general administrative support to the accounts team
Onboarding clients for MTD
What Weโre Looking For
Currently studying for a degree in Accountancy field
Seeking a 12-month placement as part of your university course
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (desirable but not essential)
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
