❗The regulations with Companies House are changing from November 2025❗

Under new rules, ALL company directors, people with significant control (PSCs), members, and company secretaries will need to prove who they are via a new identify verification process.

This is a new legal requirement under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 to help prevent people using companies for illegal purposes.

There are three ways you can verify your identity...

✔ Online yourself if you have the identity documents or information required Verify your identity for Companies House - GOV.UK

✔ In person at a post office. You must live in the UK and will need to use the ‘Verify your identity for Companies House’ service first to find out if you can verify this way Using your GOV.UK One Login: Proving your identity with GOV.UK One Login - GOV.UK

✔ Using an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) – we are a registered ACSP.

We have developed a smooth two-step process that streamlines verification identity and takes away the added pressure for our clients.

Are you aware that there are new requirements for filing with Companies House?

Due to changes to UK Company Law, ID Verification will be soon be required by those filing with Companies House.

What's more, third party providers (such as Accountants) need to register as Authorised Corporate Service Providers - we at Shenward have already done this 🙌

As part of the new ID Verification rule, anyone setting up, running, owning or controlling a UK company will need to verify their identity.

This includes:

✅ Directors
✅ People with significant control
✅ Authorised Corporate Service Providers
✅ Partners and Managing Officers etc
✅ Anyone else who files for a company such as the company secretary

Whilst it won't become mandatory until early Autumn, it is advised to complete verification before this time.

⚠️URGENT NOTIFICATION⚠️

We are unfortunately experiencing a number of technical issues due to a problem with our connection provider.

These issues are sadly affecting our operations across the Leeds and Cleckheaton offices.

As a result, our team cannot access their usual email adresss and our phone lines are also down.

We are working with our IT team to resolve the issue and in the meantime try to divert incoming calls to our Director's mobiles.

All urgent matters can be sent to [email protected] in the meantime.

In honour of Red Nose Day, we thought we'd be old school and have a 'dress down day' across all offices.

Some of our Cleckheaton team decided to show their support by wearing an item of red clothing 🔴

In return for dressing down, each member of the team made a donation to Comic Relief.

In total Shenward donated £131, which will help to provide essential support to those effected by poverty and injustice around the world.

Last but certainly not least, let us introduce you to Olivia Hudson.

Olivia is a Senior Accountant who works at our Leeds office.

Olivia has been part of Shenward since 2018, though she worked for the firm we acquired for a time before this.

Olivia is a very proficient member of the team and everything she does is done with care and attention.

Olivia has been committed to her studies over the last few years and recently became promoted to Senior Accountant.

She always uses her knowledge and expertise to advise clients and ensure they are being as efficient with their finances as possible.

Here, Olivia is learning how to macrame, which she loves!

Let us introduce you to Maninder.

Maninder is a Practice Accountant at our Cleckheaton office.

She first joined us in 2020 and hasn't looked back since.

During the time she's been with us, she has focused on becoming qualified by experiencing as well as sitting some of her initial exams. For Maninder, it was important to learn at her own pace and she thrived learning from others.

She is a very passionate and driven woman and she commits herself fully to everything she does.

Here, Maninder is working out in the gym, which she likes to do after work and on weekends.
