HMRC announced that their most Inheritance Tax (IHT) receipts increased 15% for the period April 2022 to January 2023. The actual tax receipts for the period stood at a whopping £5.9bn.
The trend of rising property prices and frozen inheritance tax nil rate band thresholds, has led to a growing number of estates becoming liable to IHT.
The role of Estate Planning is becoming ever more important in protecting a family's wealth and passing this wealth on future generations.

IHT receipts up 15% to £5.9bn
Inheritance tax receipts for April 2022 to January 2023 stood at 5.9bn, an increase of 15 per cent on the previous year, according to the latest data from HM Revenue Customs.

The UK Government has confirmed that Auto-enrolment contribution thresholds will remain the same for the coming year, despite acknowleding that current contribution levels are "unlikely to give all individuals the retirement to which they aspire".
