Money Myth Monday: “Financial Planning is only for wealthy people.”

It is an understandable assumption - but it misses the real purpose of planning.

Financial Planning is not simply about managing a large Investment portfolio. It is about making informed decisions with the resources you have and ensuring those decisions support the life you want.

For one person, that could mean building an emergency fund and starting a Pension. For another, it could involve protecting a young family, combining several workplace Pensions, planning a comfortable Retirement or deciding how to pass wealth to the next generation.

The numbers will be different for everyone. The questions are often remarkably similar:

Am I doing enough?

Can I afford the future I am imagining?

What should I prioritise?

What happens if life does not go to plan?

A Financial Plan brings these questions together. It helps create structure, highlights trade-offs and gives you a clearer basis for making decisions.

You do not need to be “wealthy enough” to benefit from clarity. You simply need goals, choices or concerns that matter to you.

The Summer Bank Holiday is a chance to pause before the pace of autumn begins again.

For some, it means a day trip, a family lunch or a quiet afternoon at home. For others, it is simply a welcome break from the usual routine.

We brought the whole team together for our Sweet 16 State of the Company - reflecting on how far we’ve come, celebrating everything we’ve achieved so far in 2026, and looking ahead to an exciting next chapter.

That includes our ambition to become the UK’s Most Human, AI-Driven Financial Planning Firm - bringing together the human relationships at the heart of Penguin with the opportunities AI can create.

Then it was off to the cinema, where our clients and their families joined us for a private screening of Minions! 🍿🎬

The Minions were desperate to get in on the action but we eventually had to kick them out to make more room for our clients! 😉

A brilliant celebration with the team, clients and families who have helped make Penguin what it is today.

🏊🚴🏃 Another Ironman completed!

A huge congratulations to Dino on finishing his second Ironman, this time in Northern Spain, in the heart of the beautiful Basque region.

It wasn't an easy day. With temperatures soaring to 37°C (well above the usual 24°C) and 30 mph winds creating tough conditions for both the swim and bike, this was a true test of endurance. The city run course brought incredible support from the local crowds, while having George, Lily and Freddie there cheering him on helped him push through to the finish.

An amazing performance:
🏊 2.4-mile swim: 1:38
🚴 112-mile bike: 6:05
🏃 26.2-mile run: 5:00

⏱️ Total time: 13:03:41

After more than 13 hours of racing, Dino crossed the finish line exhausted but with another incredible achievement under his belt.
