Retiring early can sound appealing, but what cost are you willing to pay?

The FIRE movement (financial independence, retire early) encourages people to save and invest aggressively so they can stop working much earlier than the average person, often in their 40s.

There are useful lessons you can take from the movement, including planning ahead, being intentional with spending, and investing for the long term.

However, a good financial plan should also leave room for the moments that matter now, from family holidays to time spent with friends.

Read our blog, linked below, to discover the lessons you can take from the FIRE movement.

Would you give up holidays, meals out, and everyday luxuries to retire decades early?

That's the idea behind FIRE (financial independence, retire early).

According to Sky News, some people following the FIRE movement put as much as 70% of their income into savings and investments each month.

While this approach can offer useful lessons about intentional spending and long-term planning, it may also mean sacrificing too much of the life you want to enjoy today.

Could the upcoming ISA changes affect how you save and invest?

From April 2027, the overall adult ISA allowance is expected to remain at ÂŁ20,000, but under-65s will only be able to place up to ÂŁ12,000 into a Cash ISA.

There will also be a new 22% tax on interest earned on cash held within non-cash ISAs, such as Stocks and Shares ISAs.
