⚡ Electric Company Car Tax Update
Since 6 April 2026, the Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate for fully electric company cars increased from 3% to 4%.
For a £40,000 electric company car, this means:
• £320 annual tax for a basic-rate taxpayer
• £640 annual tax for a higher-rate taxpayer
Despite the increase, electric company cars remain significantly more tax-efficient than most petrol and diesel alternatives.
