What does it really take to get ready for a big challenge?

Last but not least, were delighted to welcome Iain Henderson, James Hume and Tom Stewart from Ulster Rugby for a special Q&A on mental resilience, physical preparation and performing under pressure.

As athletes, they know a thing or two about preparing for a challenge; from getting physically ready to building the mindset needed to keep going when things get tough.

And their advice couldn’t have come at a better time.

They joined us to help send off Partner & Head of Tax, Lorraine Nelson, as she prepares to take on her own incredible physical challenge: Miles 2 Mayo in support of Cancer Fund for Children.

From the pitch to the challenge ahead, there are plenty of shared lessons: prepare well, stay resilient, trust your team and keep going when the going gets tough.

Because, just like in sport, some of the biggest achievements aren't simply about the numbers on the scoreboard. They're about the people, preparation and determination behind them.

A huge thank you to Iain, James and Tom for sharing their experiences, inspiring our team and helping us send Lorraine off in style. 💪👏

A big thank you to Nancy McMullan from Diversity Mark for joining us yesterday at our team event and presenting with a very special certificate!

It was a really valuable opportunity for us all to step back, listen and reflect on how we can continue to build a workplace where everyone feels included, valued and able to thrive.

As Silver Award Accreditation holders, are proud of our commitment to creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace, and conversations like this are an important part of turning that commitment into meaningful action.

It was a pleasure and an honour to welcome renowned author O'Kane back to Belfast yesterday as he joined as part of our staff event.

In a thought provoking and uplifting keynote, Owen shared practical insights on getting the most out of life, managing our minds when things get difficult and navigating big emotions, all delivered in his trademark down to earth style.

Owen's session was a valuable reminder of the importance of prioritising wellbeing alongside performance and client delivery and reflects the firm's commitment to creating a workplace where our people can thrive.

Thank you, Owen, for such a great session!

Leadership, lessons and the journey behind the role.

We’re incredibly proud to see Partner & Head of Tax, Lorraine Nelson featured on the latest episode of The Public Eye podcast, sharing an honest and insightful conversation about her journey as a female business leader.

From the highs and challenges along the way to the lessons that have shaped her career, Lorraine speaks openly about her experiences, what leadership means to her and the importance of giving back and creating opportunities for others.

It’s a brilliant insight into the person behind the role and a conversation that we think is well worth a listen.

We’re proud of everything Lorraine has achieved, but even more so of the passion she has for supporting others in the form of her Miles 2 Mayo Challenge for Cancer Fund for Children and helping the next generation of leaders along the way. 👏

🎧 Give it a listen, and let us know what you take away from it. Thank you to Sarah Travers and Granite Podcast Studio.

It's just over ONE WEEK until BDO NI Tax Partner Lorraine Nelson joins the incredible Rory's Miles 2 Mayo challenge!!

Lorraine's been all about putting the steps in - in fact, she's even been spotted on the Inca Trail in Peru recently getting in those hard yards! 👟

Lorraine is super grateful to everyone who has got behind her fundraising efforts so far and in the final days leading up to the challenge is describing walking nine marathons in nine days as "a mix of daunting, exciting and slightly surreal!" 🙂

Here's a look at the 7th and 8th (penultimate) leg of the journey the team will be taking. If you'd like to support Lorraine please do via the link below - with all funds gratefully received for BDO NI's charity partner Cancer Fund for Children

🏓 What a smashing afternoon! 🎉

A huge thank you to our team who got involved in our annual table tennis fundraising event last week!

From picking up a paddle and getting competitive, to donating or cheering from the sidelines, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped us raise money for a great cause, Cancer Fund for Children.

There was plenty of spin, some serious rallies and a few hard-fought points, but ultimately there could only be one champion…

🏆 Congratulations to Adam, who came out on top after battling it out with Julian in the final.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make it a smashing success! 🏓
