However, rates are much higher than earlier in the week, and we have no knowledge of whether these rates are likely to rise further. Following yesterday’s news update, many banks have temporarily pulled their new business rates. We do expect these to return, but as we stand, we have no timescale on this.

For customers who have applied for mortgages and those with mortgage offers, these are currently being honoured.
