π
22 September β PAYE, NIC & CIS electronic payment deadline
π
30 September β CT600 Corporation Tax return due for accounting periods ended 30 September 2025
If any of these apply to your business and you're not already on top of them, now is the time to act. Our South Wales team is here to help.

Get Ahead of Self Assessment: Why September Is the Best Time to Start Preparing
The Self Assessment filing deadline of 31 January 2027 might feel comfortably distant right now. But if you have ever found yourself scrambling for receipts and bank statements in the middle of December, you will know how quickly the months disappear.. and how stressful a last-minute tax return can....

31st August Corporation Tax filing deadline... does it affect you? π
Companies with an accounting period ending 31 August 2025 must file their CT600 Corporation Tax return with HMRC by 31 August 2026.
It's easy to lose track of Corporation Tax deadlines (particularly when your year end doesn't fall in December or March). Your return is due 12 months after your accounting period ends, and your payment was due 9 months and 1 day after β so if you missed the payment deadline, interest will already be accruing.
If you're unsure of your CT600 position or haven't yet filed, please get in touch with our team before the end of the month.

With the UK Sustainability Reporting Standards now in force, larger businesses are asking their suppliers (potentially including yours) for data on emissions, supply chain practices, and environmental policies.
If you're not prepared, you could find it affecting your contracts.
Our latest blog explains:
πΏ What ESG actually means for small businesses
π Why your financial data is central to ESG reporting
πΌ The commercial case for getting ahead β finance, talent, and costs

You may already be doing more than you think. The challenge is being able to evidence it.

Summer Cash Flow: How to Keep Your Business Finances on Track During the Quieter Months
August is a paradox for many small business owners. On the surface, it can feel like a slower month β clients are on holiday, decisions get deferred, and the usual rhythm of business softens. But the tax calendar does not take a summer break. VAT returns, PAYE deadlines, CIS obligations, and Corpo...

Monthly reports are no longer enough β here's why. π
The way business owners want to understand their finances is changing. In 2026, the distinction between period-end reporting and ongoing financial oversight is blurring. Business leaders want up-to-the-minute visibility into cash flow, spend, and financial performance β quarterly or monthly reports simply won't cut it.
That means more automation, tighter integrations between systems, and finance teams adopting dashboards that reflect the business in real time.
At Fooks, we help our clients move beyond the year-end spreadsheet and towards a clearer, real-time picture of their business. Want to know what that looks like in practice? Let's have a conversation.
