It’s budget day

Chancellor Rachel Reeves will deliver the Budget speech in the House of Commons in Parliament.
It starts at around 12:30, just after Prime Minister’s Questions, and lasts about an hour.
Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the opposition, will stand up to deliver her response as soon as Reeves sits down.
MPs will then debate the Budget. This can go for several days, before the government introduces a Finance Bill to turn the proposals into law.

Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax is on its way. 📣

From April 2026, sole traders and landlords earning over £50,000 from self-employment and property need to use MTD for Income Tax for record keeping and quarterly updates. 📅
