Back from my time off. Art Walk is now over. was great seeing and meeting all the new people. You are still more then welcome to stop in and check out the office, or ask any questions. Can not believe we are into September already.

Reminder. I will be out of office. I will be open again Sept 8th for the last couple days of Downtown Williams Lake Art Walk. I can still be reached by text or email.

A lot of new businesses will be nominated for these categories. And I see they have this new Entrepreneurial Excellence category for new businesses. Please don't forget to get your nominations in.

Entrepreneurial Excellence

Criteria: Recognizes businesses under 5 years old that has demonstrated outstanding entrepreneurial spirit during its early years of operation. The business shows innovation, calculated risk taking, strong growth potential, and a clear vision for the future. The nominee demonstrates leadership, adaptability, and the ability to identify opportunities in the marketplace.
Examples of what judges may consider:
• Launching a new business that fills a gap in the local market
• Introducing an innovative product, service, or business model
• Demonstrating strong early growth in revenue, staff, or market reach
• Successfully overcoming startup challenges or economic barriers
• Building strong brand recognition in a short period of time

Professional & Trades Service Excellence

Criteria: Recognizes a business or professional whose primary focus is delivering services rather than selling retail products. This award celebrates skilled trades, professional services, and personal service providers who demonstrate expertise, professionalism, and outstanding customer care.
Examples include trades, personal services, health professionals, consultants, and repair or maintenance services.
Examples of what judges may consider
• Strong reputation for quality work and reliability
• High standards of professionalism and ethical practices
• Strong client relationships and repeat business
• Ongoing training, certifications, or skills development
• Contribution to the local economy through skilled services
