Always LOVE coming out to ’s annual International Women’s Day event.
It was a powerful reminder of the impact women have when they come together to support one another.
The stories, experiences, and perspectives shared throughout the event were truly inspiring. When women lift each other up, they create opportunities, build confidence, and help open doors for the next generation.
Some things that resonated with me applicable to the finance industry is that women often don’t feel confident with money. However, what I’ve learned is women more likely to take appropriate investment risk when they are heard and supported.
Until I heard that read, I didn’t realize that’s what I try to do with my practice! Happy to know I’m trying to move the needle forward 💕

Last night looked different for CFP Jacq as I spoke at a local women’s shelter for women fleeing abuse on financial literacy topics like budgeting and insurance.
These women were living a normal life until their abuse started. They loose their freedom, confidence, dignity and ability to manager their money.
Abuse comes in many forms such as: physical, emotional, financial, digital, isolation, threats, and sexual.
It was eye opening listening to the obstacles these women have had to overcome.
As a new mom myself, I can’t imagine trying to protect my child from these situations and it goes to show how incredibly resilient women and moms are! 💪🏻
After learning there were babies living in the shelter, I rallied our Facebook mom community and put together a few boxes of items. One mom put their baby in the snowsuit right away 🥹
If you or anyone you know is in an abusive situation, they can call the Assaulted Women’s Helpline 416-364-4144 or you can assist by providing them the AWHL website

It wasn’t too long ago that anyone wanting to save money for the future – particularly for retirement – in a tax-sheltered environment had essentially one choice: the Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP). Starting in 2009, an additional option became available: the Tax-Free Savings Accoun...

Did you know there’s a new First Home Savings Account available to help folks save for their first home?
It’s a great tool that allows you to deduct your contributions and withdraw your money tax-free to purchase your first home!
However contribution room only accumulates if you have the account open, so make sure you do this before the end of the year so that you get the $8000 of room.

To use the HBP, you need to have a registered retirement savings plan, or RRSP. An RRSP allows you to save money in a tax-sheltered environment, and your contributions can be deducted from your taxable income.

The 2025 TFSA contribution limit is $7,000 again!
For those who were at least 18 years old in 2009, this is a cumulative limit of $102,000.
Did you know, the number one mistake I see folks make is using their TFSA as an emergency fund. The TFSA presents investors with an opportunity for tax-free investment growth.
With the right portfolio allocation, selecting suitable investments in your TFSA can help you reach your goals faster! Book an appointment today to learn more.
