PSAC workers strike

Different sources have announced that union members will be on strike starting at 12:01 AM on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, if no agreement is reached by 9 PM today, between the government and the Public Services Alliance of Canada, about unions fighting for wages increases, benefits and remote work.

Canadians have until May 1 to file their tax returns. The CRA has not announced any delay in the deadline despite the possibility that some services such as processing income tax and benefit returns, passport applications, import/export, etc. may be affected.

We encourage all our clients who are still pending to file income tax, to do so as soon as possible. Stay updated on the strike, more information provided by the CRA can be found here:

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will start accepting electronic returns on February 18. Get ready to file your return before the deadline. When’s the deadline?
- April 30 to both pay any tax due and file your return.
- If you’re self employed, this year you have until June 17 to file, but remember if you owe taxes, you still need to pay up by April 30.
