Moving expenses, CRA form T1-M, can only be claimed in the year you start your job at your new location.

The one-time grocery benefit will be issued on June 5th. Make sure you file on time to receive it.

When you have a hybrid type of work, check with your employer as to whether or not you qualify for the home office deduction. Just because you work from home, it doesn't mean you can deduct home office expenses. A T2200 is necessary.

If you are planning to file a Paper T2 Return forget it. CRA is now charging a $1,000 penalty if you do.

The Government is NOT giving out $2K to eligible seniors. This is just another hoax.

CRA plans to autofile low income earners, taxes. This spells trouble. CRA does this for many late filers and they usually miss important non- refundable tax credits.

The Federal Disability Benefit will not be clawed back in Ontario for those who qualify. Unfortunately Alberta, being the most unreasonable, will claw the $200/month back.

Today, April 30th, is the last day to officially file your personal tax return without Penalty, if you are owing. Otherwise, you can file anytime, although you only have 3 years if you expect to receive the GST Credit, and in Ontario, the Trillium Benefit, if you qualify.
