Buying your first home? Your strategy may involve more than one account.
Eligible first-time home buyers may be able to use both the FHSA and the RRSP Home Buyers’ Plan toward the purchase of a qualifying home, provided they meet the requirements for each.
The FHSA and HBP can serve different purposes, which is why understanding how they fit together can be an important part of your overall home-buying strategy.
When it comes to financial planning, it’s not always about choosing one option over another—sometimes it’s about understanding how your options can work together.

Withdrawing money from your TFSA doesn’t mean that contribution room is gone forever.
The amount you withdraw is generally added back to your available contribution room on January 1 of the following year.
The important thing to remember? You can’t necessarily recontribute that money right away unless you have enough unused contribution room available. Otherwise, you could accidentally over-contribute.
Understanding the rules behind your registered accounts can help you make more informed decisions and avoid unnecessary surprises.

A financial plan isn’t about having all the answers or knowing exactly what the future holds. It’s about creating a foundation that can help you adapt as your life, goals and priorities change.
Whether you’re planning for retirement, buying a home, growing your family or simply building greater financial security, having a plan can help turn uncertainty into direction.
Because the future may be unpredictable—but being prepared can help you feel more confident about what comes next.

Knowledge gives you options. A plan helps you use them.
Financial knowledge can help you understand the choices available to you—but knowing your options is only the beginning.
A thoughtful financial plan helps connect those choices to your goals, your priorities and the life you want to build.
That’s why financial planning isn’t simply about numbers.
It’s about turning information into intentional decisions.
Your Money. Your Goals. Your Values.

Your financial data tells a story about your financial life.
Canada is moving toward consumer-driven banking, a framework designed to give Canadians more control over how their financial information is shared with participating providers.
The goal? Greater control, choice and innovation in how Canadians access financial services.
As financial services continue to evolve, understanding your options—and how your information is being used—matters.
Stay informed. Stay in control of your financial decisions.

🏠 First-time home buyers: this is one to know about.
Eligible first-time home buyers may be able to receive up to $50,000 through the new federal First-Time Home Buyers’ GST/HST Rebate.
The rebate can cover up to 100% of the GST (or federal portion of HST) on qualifying new homes valued at $1 million or less, with the benefit gradually reducing for homes between $1 million and $1.5 million.
But buying a home is about more than the purchase price. Understanding rebates, taxes, financing, cash flow and long-term affordability can all be part of making the right decision for your financial plan.
At Affinity Capital, we believe your financial decisions should fit into the bigger picture.

What if financial success isn’t about having more?
Maybe it’s about having enough to live the life you value.
Enough to feel secure.
Enough to experience the things you’ve worked for.
Enough to support the people who matter.
Enough to enjoy your future without constantly worrying about money.
Financial planning isn’t about maximizing every dollar just for the sake of it.
It’s about understanding what your money is for—and creating a plan that supports the life you want to live.
At Affinity Capital, we believe your financial plan should reflect your life, your priorities, and your definition of success.
Your Money. Your Goals. Your Values.

An emergency fund can give you something beyond financial security:
Options.
Options when an unexpected expense comes up.
Options when your career takes an unexpected turn.
Options when your home needs a major repair.
Options when someone you love needs your support.
Having a financial cushion can give you the ability to make decisions from a place of choice—not panic.
Building financial security isn’t just about preparing for the worst. It’s about creating flexibility for whatever life brings.
Your Money. Your Goals. Your Values.

Before making a major purchase, take a moment to pause. 🛍️
Ask yourself:
1. Can I comfortably afford it?
2. What am I giving up to make this purchase?
3. Will this still matter to me a year from now?
Financial planning isn’t about telling you what you can and can’t spend. It’s about helping you understand how today’s decisions fit into the bigger picture.
Because sometimes the best financial decision isn’t spending less—it’s spending intentionally.
Your Money. Your Goals. Your Values.
