Would your family know where to find $25,000 if you were suddenly gone?

A GoFundMe can help in a crisis — but it depends on people choosing to donate, sharing your story, and reaching the fundraising goal.

Life insurance is different.

You plan the protection before your family needs it.

For example, a properly structured policy could provide a tax-free death benefit to your beneficiaries, helping cover things like:

🏠 Mortgage or rent
💳 Debts and expenses
👨‍👩‍👧 Family living costs
🎓 Children’s future
💰 Emergency financial needs

The goal isn’t to replace generosity or say GoFundMe is “bad.”

The goal is to avoid making your family fundraise during one of the hardest moments of their life.

A small premium today can create a much bigger financial safety net tomorrow.

Highest paying jobs by country in 2026 — see how salaries compare around the world 🌍

Ever wonder which country pays the highest salary for the same job? We compared the top-earning profession in 10 countries — U.S., Canada, UK, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, India, Japan, UAE, and Singapore — and specialist medicine tops almost every list. But converted to the same currency, the pay gap is massive:

🇺🇸 Neurosurgeon — ~$749K USD
🇨🇦 Surgeon — up to ~$776K USD
🇬🇧 NHS Consultant — ~$190K–$405K USD
🇩🇪 Chefarzt (Chief Physician) — up to ~$324K USD
🇦🇺 Surgeon — ~$312K USD
🇨🇭 Specialist Physician — up to ~$388K USD
🇮🇳 Senior Anesthesiologist — ~$300K–$420K USD
🇯🇵 Surgeon — up to ~$200K USD
🇦🇪 Specialist Physician (tax-free) — ~$150K–$350K USD
🇸🇬 Specialist Medical Practitioner — ~$149K USD avg.

Here’s the part most people miss: it’s not just about the salary — it’s about what you actually keep after taxes. A tax-free package in the UAE can beat a bigger salary in a high-tax country once you compare real take-home pay. That’s exactly why income protection, tax-sheltered savings, and the right insurance planning matter no matter which country you earn in.

The question is: what will you have built for them by then?

What if your life insurance could do more than just pay a death benefit?

Here’s an example:

A client opens a Universal Life (UL) insurance policy at age 30 and contributes $500/month.

Part of the premium pays for the cost of insurance, while the remaining amount can be allocated to investment options available inside the policy.

Over time, the policy can build cash value while providing life insurance protection.

Depending on the policy and available values, the client may also be able to access funds through withdrawals or policy loans for opportunities such as:

🏠 Real estate
📈 Investments
🏢 Business opportunities
💰 Other financial needs

Meanwhile, funds that remain invested inside the policy can continue to grow on a tax-advantaged basis, subject to Canadian tax rules and the policy remaining exempt.

Here’s what a properly structured UL policy can potentially provide:

✓ Tax-advantaged growth inside an exempt policy
✓ Permanent life insurance protection
✓ Investment flexibility within the policy
✓ Access to accumulated cash value, subject to policy terms
✓ Estate-planning opportunities
✓ A generally tax-free death benefit paid to beneficiaries
✓ Another tool for building and transferring wealth

The important part?

Universal Life isn’t automatically a better investment than a TFSA, RRSP or non-registered account.

The strategy has to make sense for your income, insurance needs, tax situation, time horizon and financial goals.

Want to see what $500/month from age 30 could potentially look like over the long term?

Comment “UL” or DM me and I’ll show you an illustration.
