Matthew Swindley, Chartered Professional Accountant

My Story

A lifelong resident of Niagara, Matt joined a regional accounting firm in 2004 as a first-year co-op student in their St. Catharines office. After graduating from Brock University and receiving his Honours Bachelor of Accounting degree with first-class standing in 2008, Matt successfully completed the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario Professional Program, earning the Chartered Accountant designation in early 2009.

As a student, associate and Partner of the regional firm, Matt provided clients with a variety of assurance, accounting and taxation services. In addition to providing year-round service to personal tax and small business clients, Matt’s responsibilities included audit planning, internal control testing, supervision of junior staff, preparing financial statements, corporate tax planning and tax returns, including Charitable and Annual Information Returns for non-profit clients. Clients ranged from small for-profit companies to large not-for-profit entities, including several public-sector organizations.
