Here's the corporate tax deadline mistake many Canadian business owners make every year: They know their T2 is due six months after their fiscal year-end — so they wait until then to pay their tax. But for most CCPCs, the PAYMENT was due two or three months after year-end. Result: months of daily compound interest on a balance they thought they were paying on time.

For a December 31 year-end Alberta CCPC, the key dates are:
📌 March 31 — Corporate tax balance DUE (not the filing deadline — the payment)
📌 March 31 — Annual GST return and payment due
📌 February 28 — T4 slips and T5 dividend slips filed with CRA
📌 June 30 — T2 federal return filed with CRA
📌 June 30 — AT1 Alberta provincial return filed with TRA
📌 Monthly — Corporate tax instalments if required Miss any of these and the penalties are automatic.
