Tomorrow, Monday Feb 23, is the first day of the season for tax filing!

E-Filing begins on Feb 23 this year. I can prepare returns before then, but they can't be filed until the 23rd.

At this time I have a limited number of spaces for new clients. If you'd like to get on my list as a new client, send me a message/text/email/call.

If I've done your returns before, no worries, I'm already available for you, just let me know when you are ready.

If you've lost access to your MyCRA account, you can now get access without phoning CRA. See details here. (Basically you can make a new account)

Register for a CRA account - Canada.ca How to register for My Account for individuals, My Business Account and Represent a client to get access to the CRA sign-in services.

Tax filing deadlines have officially passed, but if you still need to file, I'm available to assist, and can file up to 10 years back if needed.

Two years ago, and a number of years before that, the interest rate on unpaid taxes to CRA was 5%. A year ago it was 7%, it is currently 9%, and in January it will be raised to 10%. It's getting more expensive to file late/pay late if you owe money.

As you start to receive your tax slips, I'm getting ready for you on my end as well! I can start doing returns whenever you are ready, and E-Filing begins on Feb 20.
A new credit for this year is the Ontario staycation credit, so gather any hotel, Air BnB or campground receipts for Ontario in 2022 as long as it charged HST.

Do you still have to do last year's 2021 return (or other earlier years?) They have until this Friday night Jan 27 to be E-Filed before CRA pauses E-Filing until 2022 E-File season begins on Feb 20.

I can do returns in between, I just won't be able to press "send" until it reopens on Feb 20.

If you (or a friend) didn't receive your Canada Child Benefit today, you might have forgotten to file your 2021 tax return. Let me know if you would like me to help you out with that. I can go back and do 10 years of filing. (Yes, I do this regularly for people).
